Job Description:
Our client, a financial services company located in Westchester, has a select opening for a Vice President of Human Resources who will participate with the senior management team in identifying Human Resources and organizational opportunities to support strategic business plans and establish goals and direction for areas including benchmarks to ensure the department’s part of the overall organizational goals are met.
The VP will have the following responsibilities:
1. Managing the daily functions of the department, including, but not limited to recruiting, staffing, retention, payroll processing, benefit administration, training and development and maintenance of department files and data
2. Overseeing and directing the company’s performance management and compensation programs
3. Administering Human Resources concerns such as employee relations and performance issues
4. Monitoring and controlling departmental practices to ensure compliance with Federal and state labor law, affirmative action principles and company policies Communicates to staff regarding promotional and marketing programs.
5. Leading Organizational Development and Human Resources activities to include succession planning, career planning and management development
6. Managing, coaching and supervising staff
7. Preparing budgets and negotiating contracts
8. Promoting and maintaining a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with members, co-workers, management and vendors.
9. Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree with 7 – 10 years of management experience in a related position preferably at a credit union, bank or other financial institution
2. Ability to perform both at a strategic and hands-on level
3. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
4. Excellent organizational, analytical, managerial and coaching skills
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
7. Proficiency in standard business software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
8. Ability to travel out of state as required
