Job Description:

One of the world’s largest clinical diagnostics corporations is currently seeking a User Experience Analyst.
The User Experience Analyst acts as a user advocate, bridging the gap between the user and the development team.  As an integrated part of the product development team, the Analyst is responsible for gathering user input and feedback from user groups and translating this information into actionable recommendations for requirements and design solutions. The Analyst is also responsible for evaluating hardware and software usability throughout a product’s lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field with 3+ years of proven user research/usability experience, or a BS/BA with 5+ years of proven user research/usability experience.  A Usability certification is a plus.
• Experience working directly with technical teams to bridge the gap between user needs and development team needs
• Experience with planning and execution of usability testing strategies
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in team environments
• Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated commitment to user advocacy
• Excellent collaborative, verbal, and written communication skills

Major Tasks

• Plan, develop, and perform user research and usability activities for system and software components throughout the development lifecycle of one or more projects
• Identify user needs of key user groups through techniques such as field observation, surveys, focus groups, and other research methods
• Work with R&D and marketing functions to refine and transform user needs into requirements and specifications
• Validate requirements and design solutions with customers and internal users through usability testing, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristic evaluations, and other testing methods
• Document and present research/usability findings and recommendations to development teams
• Support other User Experience Analysts during user research and usability testing sessions.
