Job Description:

Software Product Manager

Our client is a well established global provider of enterprise software solutions that enable organizations around the world to strategically manage their business infrastructure.

Dynamic professional with superior interpersonal and leaderships skills as a Software Product Manager who will be responsible for championing and driving the company’s Product Governance process and activities. In this position the person will work closely with Development, Sales, Services and Support to manage products from cradle to grave. The position will report to the Senior Director, Marketing.

Additionally, the Software Product Manager will manage cross-functional product teams to identify, design and drive the development of the company’s enterprise software products.

More specifically, the SPM will also:

• Ensure that product features and the overall release are delivered on-time and within budget, and meet the Product Requirements.
• Review all major (feature/function) enhancement requests submitted by Services, Support and Sales for inclusion in the product as part of the normal Product Governance process.
• Work in collaboration with Marketing to develop Marketing Requirements Documents.
• In coordination with the Release Management function, develop the Product Release Plan associated with each Product Release.  

The position requires a mix of technical software background with strong development lifecycle methodology and software release management experience. The person must have experience managing the design, development and delivery of mission critical enterprise software applications.

Candidate experience/qualities needed:

• Strong project management skills required
• Proven success in developing and delivering project plans that meet business objectives and resulted in successful product releases.
• Must have a driving strong knowledge of and experience with project and process management tools and methodologies, participate in the review of project plans, product architectures and prototypes.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with development, sales, services and customers.
• Exhibits strong motivation to achieving goals through consensus building at all levels of the organization.

Requirements also include:

The ability to develop “best practices” and apply them in an extremely fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience is required. (MBA a plus), along with 10+ years of relevant work experience, of which a significant part must have been in field software product management. Some travel (20-25%) will be required.
