Job Description:
My client, a leader in the financial services arena and a Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Westchester County, New York, is experiencing exciting changes and unprecedented growth. Currently they have a select opening in their Marketing & Business Development department for a Communication Coordinator reporting to the Marketing manager.
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting/developing various communications materials for both web and print; serves as the primary owner of my client’s Internet presence and image by implementing the corporate web strategy and managing/implementing content updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the department in the implementation of marketing campaigns designed to raise brand awareness and generate sales.
- Creates unique and compelling marketing communications, both web and print, that are consistent with the corporate brand.
- Develops and implements promotional messages for member and sponsor relations.
- Directs the fulfillment of marketing collateral with vendors by managing the print and production processes.
- Develops and prepares various management reports.
- Communicates promotional marketing programs to staff, as necessary.
- Reviews and reports on competitions’ websites and presents/implements management approved enhancement solutions.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations.
- Works under limited supervision using independent judgment.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member, as necessary.
- Stays abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to, changes in regulations and technology.
- Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with members, co-workers, management and vendors.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Graphic Arts strongly preferred. 2-3 years of web communications experience highly desired.
- Ability to foster ideas and develop creative concepts to support marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- 1-3 years of related experience preferably with a credit union, bank or other financial institution, a plus.
Environmental / Physical / Mental Requirements
The Communications Coordinator performs a major portion of their duties through verbal and written communications. It is critical that he / she possess the ability to communicate with clarity, while understanding and explaining complex situations to team members and outside contacts. Accuracy is essential and he / she must possess the ability to proof read documentation and correspondence to insure free of errors and fraud.
The person will spend a good portion of the day seated at a workstation. This person will be mobile throughout the credit union during the day for various purposes.
