Job Description:

Our client, headquartered in Westchester County, is engaged in the marketing, sales and distribution of well-recognized, branded consumer products in the personal care, over-the-counter drug, and household cleaning categories to food, drug and mass merchandisers. Currently have a select opening for an experienced Manager of Product Development with focus on the OTC pharmaceutical category. The ideal individual must demonstrate energy and motivation and have a proven track record of OTC Pharmaceutical product development experience.  We are looking for an expert in the OTC arena and this individual must come from an OTC background. Our client requires 10+ years of product development experience and a BS degree or greater from an accredited university or college in a chemical and/or related field.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• In depth knowledge of ingredients, chemistry and product development processes in OTC pharmaceutical products.
• Capable of leading technology exploration and providing technical advice.
• Ability to identify, oversee and develop technologies and product developments with external formulators and manufacturers.
• Capable of introducing and directing new major technology programs as well as identify new market opportunities.
• Ability to identify, problem solve and interpret complex product engineering problems.
• Capable of making sound, technical decisions on a wide range of technical issues.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

• Must demonstrate sound knowledge of the principles of project management and execution.
• Must demonstrate the ability to champion and lead projects.
• Must demonstrate the ability to innovate.
• Must demonstrate keen organizational skills.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Must effectively communicate on technical issues.
• Must be able to express thoughts and ideas in a professional and concise manner both verbally as well as in writing.
• Must be able to prepare relevant summaries and reports.
• Must be able to participate, facilitate and lead meetings with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to present information to audience of technical and non-technical business colleagues.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
• Demonstrates an understanding and willingness to participate in a team environment.
• Must demonstrate flexibility, open-mindedness and a positive attitude to achieve personal and business objectives.
