Job Description:

My client, a leader in the financial services arena and a Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Westchester County, New York, is experiencing exciting changes and unprecedented growth.  Currently they have an opening for a Loss Mitigation Manager who reports directly to the Controller and are asking you to come join their newly formed Loss Mitigation Department where they have combined their loan collectio9ns and fraud prevention functions under “one roof.”  This combination would streamline the processes to mitigate losses related to loan delinquency and fraud.

Loan collections include management of collection vendors, loan workouts for consumer and residential loans.  Risk management includes credit/debit card disputes and fraud investigations.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 7 years experience in lending and/or risk management experience and must be a proven leader in change management.  A minimum of a 4 year college degree is required and a secondary degree is preferred.  He/she has to be ready to immediately dig in and re-construct the department, analyze the needs and implement the changes quickly.  This is definitely a “hands-on” position and the opportunity to work with highly motivated staff and move and shake an organization.

The Loss Mitigation Manager performs a major portion of their duties through verbal and written communications.  It is critical that he / she possess the ability to communicate with clarity, while understanding and explaining complex situations to team members and outside contacts.  Accuracy is essential and he / she must possess the ability to proof read documentation and correspondence to insure free of errors and fraud.
