Job Description: 

Well established & diverse global corporation designing innovative products and solutions seeks an IPAttorney to join their Energy & Automation business sector. 

Position will provide independent IP legal counsel for the metals & mining, automation and motor drives business sector; supporting the corporations U.S. Operating Companies, and international HQ business in regard to intellectual property rights.

In this role the IP Counsel will interface and communicate with inventors, engineering, contracts and marketing personnel. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·  Provide extensive legal counseling with IP-related agreements and patent investigations/product clearances.

·  Prepare, file and prosecute patent applications personally and via outside counsel

·  IP aspects of corporate acquisition and divestiture transactions

·  Evaluate invention disclosures, provide IP legal training

·  IP-related licensing and transactional agreements

·  Patent and trademark claims assertions (including court litigation) management and support

·  Counsel regarding adoption and use of trademarks

·  Organize and conduct patent committees

Requirements:

·  5 + years IP legal experience; JD, admission to at least one state bar and admitted to the USPTO.

·  Bachelor degree required in engineering, physical or technical area; electrical or mechanical engineering.

·  Requires legal experience in metals & mining, automation and motor drives businesses.

·  Preparation of patent applications based upon original inventor disclosures and prosecution.

·  Experience in patent investigations and product clearances, including infringement and validity opinion drafting.

·  Excellent communications a must; able to work independently and as a team player.
