Job Description:
Expanding global Engineering giant seeks several qualified hands-on Engineers to fully staff a new, major engineering services facility in Northern New Jersey. This company has a large inventory of Global Projects to construct thermal, fossil (boiler) plants, most of which are brand new, startup units. As they are a full-service EPC concern, this provides excellent job stability and opportunity to join an industry leader for the right candidates.
Openings are centered in the following four areas:
--ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS with Power Plant experience. The EE’s must be able to read and prepare diagrams, load lists and schematics as well as perform electrical system calculation specifications, layouts and cable tray wiring.
--I&C ENGINEERS with Electrical or Mechanical background who will provide support to areas such as generating documents and/or furnishing consultation in engineering calculations and analysis, electrical schematics, I&C equipment specifications, bid evaluation, boiler protection logics, burner management system, interlock & control diagrams, loop, piping & instrumentation diagrams, and other related duties.
--CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS who will follow design guidelines, standards and procedures to effective execute assigned work. Will also be responsible for creating original specifications/ reports, reviewing drawings and models and working with drafter/designers and supervising engineers.
--MECHANICAL ENGINEERS who will establish processes and equipment to satisfy client requirements and who will work with designers to establish proper equipment arrangements and piping layouts.
Responsibilities/Duties common to all positions:
- Requires a broad knowledge of precedents in specialty area and familiarity with basic principles and practices in other disciplines
- Coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in projects ranging in scope from moderate to major
- Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice, but can also manage complex issues, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials or difficult coordination requirements
- Employ knowledge on major prime movers such as gas/steam turbines, electric generators, boilers, HRSGs and associated equipment
- Perform discipline oriented tasks in conjunction with the highest technical standard and all applicable legal and professional codes.
- Implement research and conceptual planning often using mathematical modeling and computer aided design
- Prepare and review Bills of Material, drawings, specifications, etc., for accuracy and constructability
- Evaluate engineering changes and determine cost (labor hours) to implement approved changes
- Able to communicate effectively with other professionals and colleagues via any method (e-mail, phone, person-to-person)
- Must be comfortable and able to thrive in multi-cultural environments
All positions are require a minimum of 5+ years related experience, most of which must be in the thermal power plant industry along with a BS in Engineering. The company offers extremely competitive salaries based on experience along with a superior benefits package.
